Do I need a police background check for the retirement visa in Thailand after my initial 90-day Non-O Visa?
Excuse me for my ignorance, but I know you can do the non-immigrant 90 day Visa and get a one year but after that one year don’t you have to do your police background check for the retirement Visa in order to stay or can you just extend for another year?

No, there is no police check after one year. After one year you extend again. There is no visa after one year unless you leave the country and get another O visa from an embassy outside Thailand. After one year, it is a perpetual extension of one year at a time.

You apply for 90days nonO (without police check and insurance) and there after extent it for 1yr and do it every year without the police check and insurance

There is no police check on a 90 day Non O. There is a police check on the 365 day Non OA. Which one are you referring to?

There's never any police background check. It's only the non-OA visa that has that. The non-O and subsequent extensions do not have it.
