Hello group. I am going to extend my 1y non O retirement visa this August after my first year in the land of smiles.  To your knowledge, 1- did I have to keep 800k THB in my bank account for the whole 1st year? 2- can I bring my bank account balance down to 400k THB 3 months after my 2nd year non-O visa extension? 3- can I get my balance down to 400k THB now and top it up to 800k THB 2 months before extending?  Thank you so much!!

You have your initially 12 month extension for visa non-O.

You need to keep 800k during 3 months and than you can down to 400k.

2 months before the next 12 months extension you need 800k on your account.

i am looking for an answer to the question: during my first year under a non-O retirement visa, can I withdraw 400k THB from my bank account and keep a balance above 400k THB until 2 month before my visa extension or do I have to keep a balance of 800k THB at all time? I am in my first 12 month living it Thailand.

Immigration aren’t interested in what you used the money for just that it dropped below the minimum required 400k. In allowing that to happen you have failed to continue to meet the requirements for which the extension was granted. You’ll need to apply for a new visa and start over.

i have a retirement visa. Had the 800,000 baht in my Thai bank. Building a home and it has gone below 400,000 baht.

My renewal is due in March 2026.

I have the funds to transfer to top up my Thai account.

Will there be any repercussions for letting it go below 400,000 baht?

even if I have not completed my first year on my non-O. As I said, it will be my first year in August 2025.

the requirements Wolf posted are the requirements for the first 12 month extension, you cannot get a new extension if you fail to meet these requirements plus the requirements for applying for your second extension (800k for 2 months or 65k/month for 12 months)
