Myself and family (wife + 2kids) are moving to CM in June/July. Our plan is to get the kids ED visas and we get the guardian visa.
Now, I will be flying in and out of thailand at least twice a month. Do you think i need a guardian visa, or i can keep my tourist visa and, in the event of being stopped at immigration because of multiple re-entries, explain my situation to the officers. I know I can get the guardian visa. But wanted to avoid the transfer of 500k if possible.
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is seeking advice on whether they need to obtain a Guardian visa while repeatedly traveling in and out of Thailand with their family, or if they can simply maintain a tourist visa and explain their situation at immigration. Community responses advise obtaining the Guardian visa to avoid issues at immigration, especially with family involved.
only mentally!!;) Thanks for the answer. I have no problem on getting the guardian visa for both of us. i would like, if possible, to avoid transferring such a large sum . If I might get in trouble, I will go for the right visa
In the event of being stopped and then you explaining your situation you may actually be shooting yourself in the foot as you will be explaining that your not actually a tourist and admitting to having the incorrect visa. You're best off with the correct visa especially with family involved. You can get 1 guardian visa for each child
