Hello group,
Is anyone in the group a crew member or have dealt with something similar as my situation? I flew in as a crew member on a Gen Dec(general declaration form) form Nov 2nd. It is my understanding crew members are allowed a maximum of 30 days. They also do not stamp your passport so I have to keep a copy of the gen Dec for when I leave so they understand how I got in. But I also posses a one year guardian visa here in Thailand. Normally I have to leave anyways due to work but this time I'm on vacation and don't need to leave. Is there a way I can transfer the entry to my guardian visa or do I still have to leave and come back? I tried calling immigration but as usual with them I was more confused then before calling. She really had no idea I think but would not admit it. Also my airline I work for has a very small operation here and I'm the only pilot doing this, so they won't know either. Really would like to hear from someone who might do something similar as me.
Thanks!!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about their ability to transfer their entry status from a crew member visa (via General Declaration) to a guardian visa while staying in Thailand. They clarify that crew members have a maximum stay of 30 days and do not receive a passport stamp. Confusion arises regarding whether they can stay without leaving the country, given their situation as a pilot on vacation. Suggestions from commenters include contacting immigration for clarity and visiting an immigration office to speak with a senior official about the issue.
