TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing your passport and transferring your visa details at Chiang Mai immigration, you will need to pay a fee of 1,500 Baht. It typically takes a few days to complete the transfer, and you will have to return to collect your new passport with the updated visa information.

In Bangkok transferring Extension of Stay stamps and Re-entry permits is free. It takes around 30 minutes to actually do it, although you may have to wait in line for a long time if it's busy.

When you leave the country show both passports, when you want to return you only need to show your valid passport.

I was on a non O visa but now on a 30 day visa exempt as non ended, so I wouldn't have to go to immigration but just take 2 passports to Myanmar and back? After that i'll go to Savannaket when iv got time.

If you here on the Visa Exempt entry, just use both passports to leave to country.
