Do holders of retirement visas in Thailand need to file a 90-day report?

Hello. Question related to the 90-day report and the retirement visa. Is it true that the people who hold a retirement visa don't need to do the report? Asking because, as far as I understand, all the foreigners must do it.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
All foreigners in Thailand, including those on a retirement visa, are typically required to file a 90-day report with the Immigration Bureau if they are in the country continuously for more than 90 days. However, holders of the Long-term Resident (LTR) visa are exempt from this requirement and only need to report once every 12 months. Overall, while most visa types require a 90-day report, the retirement visa does not have an exemption.

Retirement visa must do the 90 day

@Russell *******
No, not with the visa. With year extension based on retirement, yes (IF more than 90 days in Thailand)
Ellie *******
@Peter ***************
, to have to do if you are on Non-OA visa.

technically yes, that's correct: but I'd have thought he means once living on the 12 month extensions.

The only people that don't have to file a 90 day report if they spend 90 consecutive days inside Thailand on a visa/extension that allows stays of longer than 90 days are those that are on an LTR visa, they have a concession that allows them to report every 12 months
Dave *******
For clarification ,90 day reports are not required for Long term Resident visas
John *******
@Dave ******
the question was in relation to the " Retirement Visa " not the Long term Resident Visa

@Dave ******

@James *******
hello James. I am on a non imm OX visa acquired early 2023. I when I first went to Patong immigration to do 90 day report they gave a receipt for 12 monthly report. 2nd 12 months report I got same receipt, next report do in 12 months. That report is due 11 June this year. Now Patong imm has changed only do 90 day reports and annual extensions so I don't know about my upcoming report. If I have to go to Phuket I believe they don't do annual. I will go yo Patong see what happens and report if you are interested.

LTV's only one a year

You MUST file a 90 day report with your local Thai Immigration office each time you are in Thailand for 90 days.

In Thailand, any foreign national staying for over 90 consecutive days must file a 90-day report with the Immigration Bureau. This applies to most visa types, including long-term visas like work, retirement, and marriage visas, and even to some tourists who plan to stay beyond 90 days.

Who specifically needs to file:

Foreign nationals staying over 90 days:

This includes tourists, international students, foreign workers, retirees, and business travelers, among others.

Holders of long-term visas:

If you have a Non-Immigrant visa (for work, retirement, marriage, etc.) and are staying in Thailand, you're likely required to file a 90-day report.

Those who have a work permit:

If you have a work permit and a Non-Immigrant B Visa issued in Thailand, you also need to report your address to Thai immigration every 90 days.

Who is generally exempt:

Tourists on standard tourist visas:

If you are visiting Thailand as a tourist and your visa allows a stay of up to 30 days, you are not required to file a 90-day report.

Those with a

Thailand Privilege Card:

If you are an Elite Member and are staying in Thailand continuously without leaving the country for over 90 days, you are still required to do the 90-day report.

Important Note: The 90-day report is not a visa extension or renewal. It's a way for the Thai government to track the location of foreign nationals staying in the country.
