What is the process and requirements for obtaining a DTV (workcation) visa from the US Consulate for Thailand?

One month for approval for DTV (workcation) at USA - LA Consulate.

I wrote a brief letter to support my application as an online stock trader for my own personal brokerage investment accounts. I included the first page (summary) from my most recent account statement. About 2 weeks after my submission, I was asked for my most recent income tax statement (I uploaded only the first page of my 1040 Fed). About 1.5 weeks later, they asked again for my income tax and this time I uploaded state and federal (including all pages of 1040.) They also asked for proof of 17k USD. My initial application showed a balance of ~16k in a bank money market savings. The next day they further clarified that money market accounts do not qualify so I transfered it to a non money market savings account. There might be some misunderstanding that a bank money market savings is an investment account. A couple days later, approved! Well worth $400 for a 5 year visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post outlines a personal experience with obtaining a DTV (workcation) visa from the LA Consulate. The applicant submitted various documents including an introductory support letter, an account statement summary, and tax documents. They faced specific requests for proof of income and funds, clarifying that a money market account was not acceptable for the minimum balance required. After complying with the requests, the visa was approved within a month, reinforcing the idea that the $400 spent on the visa was worthwhile for a five-year stay.

What i find crazy is this is a tourist visa basically so I'm told , yet its for working digital nomads and I'm sure they know your going to work remotely while there especially those ones who stay there repeatedly , yet its not a work visa its a very grey area which i think might change as it goes.

what is so crazy? if you are working online you are not competing with thai labor. a work visa is for participating in the thai economy as labor.

They didn't accept 16k, so I added more money and sent in an updated statement.
