If you hold a DVT visa but are now legally married to a Thai national, can you now open a bank account with the Marriage Certificate? If yes, which banks will open an account?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to open a bank account in Thailand if you hold a DVT visa and are married to a Thai national. You can use your marriage certificate as part of the documentation required. It is advisable to first approach the bank where your spouse has an account, as this may ease the process. Alternatively, you may need to visit multiple branches, as different banks or branches may have varying policies regarding account openings for foreigners.

A massage shop owner pretty much asked if I wanted to get married to stay indefinitely. I don’t think she was kidding around. She gave me her card and said her number is there and she would be back Monday. I was going to kid around and say if she can cure my finger numbness and wobbling fingers of the other hand I’d marry her. One session and a lot of the issues are dramatically better. Good thing I didn’t joke around 😆 I guess if a retirement visa fails, I have options😆 Thai women don’t beat around the bush

First, try the bank where your spouse has an account and go with your spouse. If that fails, you're now playing the numbers game. That means hitting as many bank branches as you can until one says yes. Possibly even going back on different days and talking to different staff members at the same bank branch. Eventually you might find one that will do it.

You can open it with a non-o marriage visa. They copy your visa and entry stamp in your passport at the bank
