TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether being married to a Thai woman will ease the process of opening a bank account in Thailand while on a DTV visa. Comments suggest that marriage alone may not significantly affect the bank’s decision, as they typically consider visa status. One user notes they had success using a Thai spouse as a referee, though another mentions changes in banking policies.

Your situation isn't different. Having a wife means nothing to the bank unless you're on a marriage visa. Otherwise you're just another foreigner on DTV.

have her go with you to the bank where she has a Thai bank account. Have her chat with the bank manager kindly requesting they open a bank account for you. You might need a Certificate of Residence obtained from your local Thai Immigration office.

I opened my first bank account using my Thai wife as a referee and was on a visa-exempt, but Bangkok Bank told me I cannot do that now.
