TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the risks and experiences related to the Ko Tao - Myanmar visa run. Several comments suggest that while re-entry into Thailand after this visa run is generally possible, it can vary based on individual circumstances such as travel history and current visa status. There are accounts of some individuals only receiving a 7-day entry stamp upon re-entry, emphasizing the evolving nature of immigration policies and advising caution. The need for a valid re-entry visa is also highlighted, along with alternative suggestions, such as choosing Malaysia for border bounces to avoid potential issues.

If you're at risk of being denied entry, consider doing a border bounce by air and applying for a safe entry service.

A safe entry service is a pre-scan and pre-approval of your entry through an agency. If youโ€™re accepted, youโ€™ll be meet and escorted through the immigration and stamped in. The owners of this group as an example provides this service.

They won't let you leave Thailand if you don't have a visa to return again. If you hope to return on visa exempt, you're better off to go Malaysia, either Satun or Sadao

If is visa run you have high probability to get only 7 day now.

But..

Depends of your history and how long stay in Burma..

If isn't visa run don't worry at all

MisterBrillante No one gets 7 days upon entry visa-exempt; it's 60 days or denial. However, some immigration officers only issue a 7-day extension for visa-exempt entries depending on your travel history.

If they're not going to let you back in they won't let you out as you'd then be stuck with nowhere to go

Via Ranong. Never heard anyone not allowed re-entry (its a bit isolated that part of myanmar) but have heard of people only getting a 7 day stamp and also not being granted departure at that point of entry/exit
