Hello again, more questions from me. My partner is Brazilian and his 90 days stamp that he got flying from Malaysia is ending soon. We were informed that nationalities with granted 90 days ( ex. Brazil, Chile, South Korea ) crossing border by land with neighbouring countries are refused to cross the border by land and are forced to fly back to Thailand. Has anyone have experienced this? I understand that he cannot do visa run in Mae Sai then? Another question is concerning my visa. I did visa run to Mae Sai and got 30 days stamp. Can I do one more visa run in Mae Sai? If not can I extend it in Mae Sai or Chang Mai for 30 days and after do visa run ? We are planning to stay only two more months in Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses concerns about visa regulations for a Brazilian national and an expat in Thailand. It clarifies that Brazilians usually receive a 90-day stamp upon entering Thailand but may face restrictions when attempting to conduct a land border run, particularly to Myanmar. The expat mentions having previously done a visa run to Mae Sai and asks if a second run is possible or if extending their stay is an alternative. Comments suggest that the expat can extend their visa at an immigration office for a fee and highlights restrictions on border runs for certain nationalities, indicating a general uncertainty around which countries can successfully perform such operations.

some of the countries that get 90 day visa exempt stamps can't border bounce at the borders, I don't know which ones can or can't sorry.

thnx Robert, that would be ideal to do the Myanmar border run as it closest but there was a case of a Korean denied but maybe for some other reason...

For you: You have the Visa Exempt stamp for 30 days, you can extend that at local Immigration office once with another 30 days, costs 1900 Thb. You can only have 2 Visa Exempt Stamps from land border checkpoints a calender year. Your partner is as Brazilian stamped in according the bilateral agreement for 90 days. As far as I know, the last update was that people using this bilateral agreement can not do border runs from Thailand to Cambodia. You like to go to Mai Sai and that is the border between Thailand and Myanmar.

You can also go to an immigration office, pay ฿1,900 and get the 30 day stamp that way....

It might be better to fly out/in to get another 90 days

can he get 30 days extension later on top of that?

I don't see why not...now he might only get 30 days via land as opposed to 90 days via air

That is great, cause I wouldn't have to go far from Pai where I am staying. Can do my first extension and then one more visa run. What about my partner? Can he cross the border by land and come back same day? He is Brazilian.

You can do that extension once a calendar year I believe, plus 2 land border visa runs....and as of this reply there still is no limit on the amount of fly in/our visa runs

thnx Jeremy, I wasn't sure if I can do it on top of the visa run, maybe they grant this only when you fly in
