Hey guys … I’m going to attempt entering with my DTV on a new passport. I’m bringing my old passport with me and my DTV documents but I’m afraid it won’t be enough. Has anyone here successfully reentered on a new passport? I’m open to just snagging a tourist since I’m in and out now only going for a couple of weeks, but I don’t like the idea of forfeiting my DTV because I’m not LIVING in Thailand right now. It was too hard to obtain haha. Thoughts?
Answer summary
The general consensus among users is that it is possible to reenter Thailand using a new passport as long as you carry your old passport that contains your DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) and the accompanying documents. Several commenters confirmed that showing both passports at immigration should suffice, and there should be no issue with your DTV visa being linked to the old passport. It's advised to ensure that the immigration stamp indicates the correct duration upon entry.

New passport, but did your fingerprints change, or your face, dob, gender, nationality all things already in the Immigration database due to entries in the past.

Just hand over your new passport, who has a line with reference to your old passport, the printed DTV and TDAC, and be surprised to find out that computers are able to match old and new passport to the same person using it.

BUT to be totally save, if you get the passport back from the Immigration Officer, CHECK THE STAMP and make sure it is admitted for a new period of 180 days.

Just bring both passports and it works fine.

Yes, bring both passports. Show the old one (with the DTV visa/sticker or e-visa printout) and the new one at immigration. They’ll check the visa details and stamp the new passport.

This is the standard procedure for DTV (and most Thai visas). Many people do it successfully without issues.

Don’t switch to a tourist visa — you won’t forfeit your DTV by re-entering on it this way. Just carry the old passport with your DTV docs for the trip. Safe travels!

You should have no problem entering with both passports. You have a valid visa linked to the old passport. They’ll stamp you in for 180 days on your new passport.

You are ok entering with your new passport and showing your old one plus DTV.
