Sooooo this whole thing with having a work permit and being able to do any job any place....Sounds too simple. My work permit is for Diving but now can I do another job even if its not diving? My lawyer tells me I need to pay him 6000 baht to include another profession...But with this new law wouldnt that be irrelevant? Not that I don't believe my lawyer but yea... I feel like hes leaving something out or i just dont understand lol

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can work in a different profession while holding a work permit specifically for diving. They mention that their lawyer insists on a fee to add a new job to their work permit but are confused about the recent changes in the law that might allow more flexibility in job roles. Commenters point out that it is possible to take up another job as long as the new employer is included on the work permit, referencing an official statement from the Phuket Employment Office.

Here is the explanation of the Employment Office Chief in Phuket. Yes, you can do another job as long as your new Employer is added in your Work Permit.

How the law is written and how the law will eventually be interpreted by the powerz-that-b are probably two different things entirely

BUT unfortunately this isn't a thai visa related enough of a question for the group sorry :/
