Have read about piggy backing a spouse for a retirement visa. We both have retirement visas obtained here in CM but feel that the second 800k can earn better income elsewhere. How easy is it to change one of the visas to an accompanied one when it's time to renew?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can change one of your retirement visas to an accompanied spouse visa when it’s time to renew. This involves changing the reason for the visa extension from being over 50 (retirement) to being married to someone on a long-term extension. It's advisable to visit the immigration office in advance to check on the specific documentation required for this process.

you would only be changing the reason for one of the extensions from one based on being over 50 (retirement) to one being married to someone on a long term extension.

Definitely go to the immigration office well before you are going to apply and see what documentation you'd have to show to be able to do it.
