Hey guys, following up on this gentleman‘s question, I have the same question as it pertains to the 800 K. I’m just starting this process as it’s my first year in Thailand and I was told that I would need a letter from K bank confirming that there was an intermediary transfer since WISE apparently also uses K Bank for the initial receipt of funds before it turns into a domestic transfer to your individual account. The letter should highlight that the funds came from overseas to mitigate the intermediary coding. So the question I have is whether anyone has done this at immigration and what, if any, were the hassles at the time of renewal? Some people seem to have no problem at all. Thanks.

Jumper25 I believe the ฿800,000 does not have to be certified as foreign transfer. I used an agent for my one year stay extension, but I used my own funds, which I transferred in through Wise. I did not get a certificate of foreign transfer. And I haven’t seen that rule anywhere.

I tried, but last year in September they froze a ton of accounts, mine being one of them. I did a September Swift transfer to an account at Siam Commercial Bank but immigration didn't like the variation nor the paperwork issued by Siam Commercial Bank to prove that it was an overseas transfer. I'm going to try using Bangkok Bank again this year for the 65,000 monthly transfer. In addition the fees charged by Wise are about 500baht vrs a $1,950 hit on the exchange rate through Swift. I'm also going to keep a 400,000 baht balance in the Bangkok Bank account which seems to be the magic number to get the paperwork through Bangkok Bank and keep 800,000 with SCB until I see an official acceptance of the monthly method. 🙂 All part of the costs to retire here

yes. In September, wise transfers were routed through kasikorn bank which caused an erroneous coding on bank statement so I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with that with immigration successfully.

Jackie Washington it is not an erroneous coding as the funds were received by BBL as a domestic transfer. You will need to go to a Kasikorn Bank International branch and request a Foreign Exchange Transaction (FET) for those transfers. You maybe able to use a receipt from Wise as proof but you will need to check if that is acceptable to Jomtien Immigration.

Takiep74Yes youre correct. I have went to kasikorn bank and obtained the certificate you mentioned. Im not due for renewal until may 22 so my question is: has anyone had that certificate accepted at immigration yet as part of their renewal.?

Jackie Washington yes that certificate is accepted. For peace of mind take the Certificate to Immigration and get confirmation from them.

you need to go to Kasikorn and ask for a Confirmation of International Transfer for those that didn't code properly. The process is covered in the Wise FAQ here
