Who can help me out? I will arrive in Thailand on December 2th on a Tourist Visa Exemption. But will leave on January 2th (thats 31 days) and return to Thailand again in March for another 3 weeks. What are my options?

Do I need a multi entry or can I extend my first stay for 1900 Bath and enter again on another exemption in March?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to arrive in Thailand on a Tourist Visa Exemption and stay for 31 days, then return in March. Comments suggest applying for a Single Entry Tourist Visa for a longer stay and using Visa Exempt Entry for the next visit, while cautioning against overstaying.

Our advice is always don't go on overstay. BUT, the decision is yours of which you would take.

Thank you for your contribution, everyone.

BTW, The arrival day is day 1. Your itinerary is 32 days. As Robert says, SETV would be better. Less trouble during traveling Thailand, less fee.

there is never a reason to treat overstay with a cavalier attitude when buying a single entry tourist visa, getting stamped in for 60 days and NOT worrying about having an overstay stamp in their passport solves the problem

you’re right, thanks. My mistake: I leave home at the 2nd but arrive in Bangkok at the 3th, doesn’t effect the solution I’m looking for.

Apply for 2 Dec for the Single Entry Tourist Visa and get 60 days on entry and enter in March using the Visa Exempt Entry, no need to spent one day at Immigration Office.

I will be in a similar situation. Just to confirm, you apply for the 30 day extension the same day of arrival correct? So I will automatically get another 30 days.

thank you, didn’t think of that! So it will be no problem to re-enter again after the SETV expired, as a citizen of a waiver-country? Than that will be my plan.

I'm not sure what you try to ask as it does not compare with the original question.
