My multiple entry visa, which I had for 6 months, expires on June 24th. I'm leaving for Kuala Lumpur. Do you think that if I return to Thailand after 5 days, they will let me get a new 2 month visa on stamp?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about whether they can obtain a new 2-month visa stamp upon returning to Thailand after a brief trip to Kuala Lumpur, considering their current multiple entry visa expires soon. Comments from the community suggest that this could be risky, as many travelers have faced entry denials for re-entering Thailand shortly after previous stays, especially if they exceed certain limits. Factors like visa type (multi-entry vs. visa exemption), duration of time spent out of Thailand, and previous entry patterns appear to influence the likelihood of a successful re-entry with a new visa stamp.

I know at least ONE report from somebody who re-entered Thailand 3 days before the expiry of his multi entry 6-months Tourist Visa, and got refused the last 60-days stay permit stamp you normally would receive when you enter within the visa validity. However I cannot remember the outcome. I think after listening to the officers he eventually was allowed to enter for a last 60 days. So be prepared to show them at least an onward travel ticket out of Thailand within the 60 days you expect to be stamped in

Enter before it expires and get 60 days plus you can extend for 30 more

I recently did a visa extension on my visa exemption and will return to Kuala Lumpur for a few days before that extension expires(I’m Malaysian). Is there a minimum time I need to stay out of the country before returning or is 5 days enough?

You can stay out for just 5 minutes but each entry is entirely at the discretion of the Immigration Officer holding your passport. It will be obvious what you are doing whether you stay 5 minutes or 5 days having just maxed a Visa Exempt entry stamp.

Are you applying for a visa? Or are you wanting to enter with no visa?

If you have an actual multi entry visa you will be fine. If you are on visa exempt you might have issues.

Very, very risky. Many people are being denied after spending 90 days in Thailand and then leaving and returning, and many more are being denied entry after doing that twice.
