Hi there. I'm from the UK, on a six-month METV, which expires on 28th January. (Although the final 60-day stamp won't expire until March.)
However, I have friends visiting Vietnam from the UK in early February and I'd like to go and visit them for a few days. If I leave Thailand after the expiry of METV (but still within 60-day stamp), will I get back into Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user from the UK is on a six-month Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) that expires on January 28, with a final 60-day stamp valid until March. They plan to visit friends in Vietnam in early February and inquire whether leaving Thailand after the METV expiry, but while still within the 60-day stamp, allows re-entry on a 30-day visa exemption. Comments clarify that while technically possible to enter on a visa exemption, a re-entry permit is recommended to avoid complications.
