Does it matter or do immigration check if the 2month 400K banked method amount is international transfer or locally transferred into Thai Bank account for Marriage Visa application and future extensions?

TLDR : Answer Summary
For the Thai Marriage Visa application, it does not matter whether the 400,000 baht bank balance comes from an international or local transfer, as long as the amount has been in the account for a full two months (referred to as 'seasoned') prior to applying. Applicants must show updated bank statements, and it is advisable to obtain a bank letter on the day of application to confirm the balance. Multiple community members confirmed that the source of the funds is not significant, providing clarity on this topic.

Thank you for the clear response that source of “2 month cooked” fund doesn’t matter.
Another quick question, I’ve heard some say they print out a “bank letter” from the bank right before visiting immigration. Along with updated bank book of course. What is this “bank letter” how difficult is it to get? And what does the letter say? Anyone with a sample letter maybe please? Thank you 🙏🏻

I can also vouch for this personally. Source of the 400k doesn't matter as long as the balance stays above 400k for the 2 months prior to applying and 30 days after applying.
I’ve extended my marriage visa the same way. No issues if u have it seasoned for 2 months prior to applying. Even it shows in ur book bank or statement about local transfer, no problem at all. Good luck
You NEED to get it from the bank before you apply for your extension AND you need to have the bank book updated on the date you apply to show the balance that day
Also remember the seasoning requirement is 400K baht in the bank for 2 months before you APPLY for your new extension (it has to be seasoned the full 2 months on that date, NOT on the date your current extension runs out)
thank you 🙏🏻 very clear response, appreciate it. Thankfully the bank letter sample doesn’t show source of fund. Hopefully “a local transfer” of 400k cooking for 2 months before applying won’t be an issue. Thank you
Out immigration office told me to get some money from ATM on the day I go to the bank to get the letter. So in this order: get money from ATM, update bankbook, get letter. This way you have a transaction on that day and they are sure the bankbook is updated.
They can also see it from the balance mentioned in the letter, but I found out there is no use in arguing before, so I just do what they tell me.
there is no requirement that the 400K baht required for a marriage extension come from abroad. As long as it's in the account for 2 months (date to date ex; May 1 to July 1) you're fine.

It doesnt matter, they just want to see it seasoned.
The O/P is asking about the funds required for an extension based on marriage (that's 400K baht) you're confusing it with one based on retirement (that's 800K baht) There are totally different seasoning requirements on the two extensions
Marriage is 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you APPLY for your extension (AND some offices want you to leave the money in the account until the under consideration stamp runs out too)
Retirement is 800K baht in a thai bank account in your many only for 2 months before you APPLY for your extension, the money needs to stay in the account for 3 months after you get the extension AND then the balance can't go below 400K baht the rest of the year
