TLDR : Answer Summary
A Korean expat living in Koh Tao inquired about obtaining a 90-day visa for Thailand when traveling by land from Penang. The responses clarified that the common terminology of a 'normal 90-day visa' is misleading; instead, a 60-day SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa) can be granted, which is extendable for an additional 30 days. It was mentioned that South Koreans could potentially receive a 90-day stamp at the Satun land border if they go through an agency and pay an extra fee of 3,000 baht. There were suggestions that flying may be a more straightforward option to secure the visa exempt entry.

Satun border accepts South Koreans and give 90 day stamp even if back-to-back if they go with an agency and pay an extra fee of 3,000 baht (1,000 per month).

@Sujin ****
, there's your answer :/

go with an agent, pay 3K baht to get a "free" 90 day visa exempt entry OR fly out and back in.

OUCH :O so 3000baht for a FREE 90 day visa exempt entry :/

You might not be able to do a land border-bounce to get another 90 day visa exempt entry at the southern borders.

Let's see what
@Ma***
says about it. He'll know.

If you can't bounce by land your only option is to fly out and back in

, can South Koreans bounce out and back in at the land borders in the south to get another 90 day visa exempt entry?

You can go by bus....

There’s no such thing as a normal 90 days visa.

60 days SETV that can eventually be extended for 30 other days.

Go, apply, get the visa and come back to Thailand by any way you want, as long as you pass an immigration checkpoint

Nobody gets a "stamp" for 90 days, unless they have non-immigrant visa.

Some people get stamped 90 days upon landing.

- Brazil passport

- Korean passport

- Russians?

- APEC card holders

I believe the OP is Korean so will also get 90 days.

However Koreans cannot cross a land border on visa exempt
