Can South Koreans get a 90-day visa by traveling from Penang to Thailand by land?

A Korean expat living in Koh Tao inquired about obtaining a 90-day visa for Thailand when traveling by land from Penang. The responses clarified that the common terminology of a 'normal 90-day visa' is misleading; instead, a 60-day SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa) can be granted, which is extendable for an additional 30 days. It was mentioned that South Koreans could potentially receive a 90-day stamp at the Satun land border if they go through an agency and pay an extra fee of 3,000 baht. There were suggestions that flying may be a more straightforward option to secure the visa exempt entry.
