I have an Iranian friend who cannot fly to Iran now due to the virus. His visa will expire at the end of this month and would like to know if the Thai immigration will issue a Non B visa here because of the circumstances we are in. Normally he would have to get one in Iran. Thank you.

Summary so far

The question involves an Iranian individual who cannot return to Iran due to flight restrictions and is seeking information on whether he could apply for a Non-B visa in Thailand instead of needing to obtain it from Iran. Community comments indicate skepticism about the possibility of obtaining a Non-B visa in Thailand and suggest contacting local immigration for policy clarification.

What he can do might be talk with his embassy. But don't think there is a way to get Non-B and WP because of the circumstance. But may be some tourist status extension if possible.

Why would Immigration handing out free visa due to circumstances?

Is there no way to fly back to Iran?

>Non B visa

I'm almost 100% certain the answer is no; people from Iran generally have to get it back in Iran. BUT ask the local immigration office for their policy if it's possible to convert a tourist visa to a Non-B visa.
