TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about transitioning from a Non-B visa to a tourist visa while in Thailand, specifically planning a trip to Vientiane to apply for the tourist visa. It is noted that they can return on a 60-day visa exemption if they are out of Thailand for a week, while also mentioning the importance of understanding the conditions of their Non-B visa expiration and possible visa options.
If you are on an extension of stay then that extension finished with your contract, you should have cancelled both your work permit and the extension on your last day of work and left the country.
If you are on an actual visa (check your passport) you can stay until the visa expires
