A question. My dad was Thai before he passed away.

My brother from another mother is half Slovenian, he doesn't have Thai birth certificate.

Can he become Thai since our dad is not alive? What are the steps? Any help?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To determine if your half-brother can become Thai due to your father's Thai nationality, it's essential to gather documentation proving the familial link, including your father's Thai passport, ID, house registration, marriage certificate to his mother, and his birth certificate. A DNA test may also be necessary to establish this connection. Since having a Thai parent grants citizenship regardless of place of birth, your brother is likely entitled to Thai citizenship, provided you can appropriately document the lineage.

The way it works is; if one parent is thai no matter where a child of that person is born they're thai too.

You'd need to start with your dad's family, getting his passport, his thai i/d, his house book listing, the marriage certificate to the half brother's mother, the birth certificate showing him as the father. Your brother is definitely thai by birth because his father was thai. Its just getting the documentation to prove it.

I certainly sympathize with your plight BUT

Unfortunately it's not a thai visa related question so I have to close the topic, :/

Good Luck,

You’ll need to start the process in Thailand by organising a DNA test with you and your remaining Thai relatives to prove the link.

if there isn’t any paper trail, then he will

you don't need to do a DNA test :/
