TLDR : Answer Summary
A foreign father can obtain a one-year visa extension in Thailand if he has half-Thai children and has been granted parental rights by the courts. The process involves having the children physically present with necessary documentation, proof of custody, financial requirements, and completing an application. If the father and mother were never married, the father must provide a court document confirming his status as the children’s father.

I read the post, it's a mess.

1. The OP mentioned a "Success Paper". According to the OP: " success paper is that the court confirms that the foreigner is the father of the child so tht immigration believes it". This is the document that shows parental rights.

2. To get a one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children:

To get a one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children, you will need the following:

1. Your passport and a copy of:

- Your data ("picture") page

- Your Non-O visa

- Your entry stamp

- Your departure card

2. Your child PHYSICALLY next to you, and

- Her ID card and a copy of her ID card (OR passport, OR houseboat)

- Her housebook, and a copy of the first page

3. To meet the money requirements, which are:

- 400K THB in a Thai bank account, *NO SEASONING REQUIREMENTS) OR;

- 40K THB in income OR;

- a letter from your embassy saying you make 40K THB a month

4. Proof of custody rights (either the rose border certificate, OR a translated copy from your home country OR court documents showing parental rights)

5. The application form

6. 2x passport pictures

7. 1,900 THB for the processing fee.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, and this may include:

- A copy of the TM30 filed where you live

- A hand drawn map to your house

- Witnesses or interviews with neighbors

- Rental contract (if renting property or a condo)

In most cases, the children must be living with you.

3. Extension of stays and visas are completely different legal authorizations to stay in Thailand.

4. This group does not tolerate making fun the way people write. I already removed one comment and gave a warning.

Thank you.

“ farang is the father” ?

Farang = foreigner

In other words

"The foreigner is the father (of the children)"

> will he get 1 year visa extension for parenthood when the mother is not in the family anymore?

I'm not sure what "when the mother is not in the family anymore".

Assuming the father is a foreigner, and is the parent of the half-Thai child,AND the father and mother were never married, the father can get a one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai child IF he is granted parental rights by the courts.

Parental rights are also granted automatically if the foreign male marries the mother of the children.

Without 400.000 you can't get. The pics you need, if the court gave you papers that the mother isn't good ( because criminal or drug abuse) and the parental rights move to you, you make these pics without their mother

A person needs EITHER:

400K THB in a Thai bank account (NO SEASONING) Or;

40K THB a month in income OR;

a letter from his embassy saying he makes 40K THB a month (If the embassy letter is used, he can not use the income method).

"when the mother is not in the family anymore". = being alive but not living with father or the children together.

in order to extend the visa you need that paper from the court once (i called it here the success court document), this document must be shown again again to the immigration when ever go to extend the visa for another year

What visa are you (or your friend) getting an extension of? What does it say in the passport?

non immigrant o : father of children (thai citizen because mother is thai)

A non-immigrant o is NOT an extension of stay.

IS this question about you, or for your friend?

Are YOU currently in Thailand now, and if so, what visa or extension of stay are you on?

@Benjamin *****
sure a non immi O visa can be extended yearly
Benjamin ******
@Malek ********************
A visa can not be extended. To stay in Thailand after acquiring a visa, a person can get an extension of stay. An extension of stay does not have to be the same visa classification they entered on (i.e. a person can go from a Non-B visa to an Extension of Stay based on Employment to an Extension of Stay based on Marriage).

Now, how about answering my question again:

IS this question about you, or for your friend?

Are YOU currently in Thailand now, and if so, what visa or extension of stay are you on?

AND...

Have you (or your friend) ever gotten a One Year Extension of Stay Based on Raising Half-Thai children, and if so, what documents were submitted.

If you can't answer those questions, I'll give a summery of the post and shut down commenting, because right now everyone's just guessing and making assumptions.

@Malek ********************
What's a "success paper"? Is this a divorce document?

Was he ever married to the mother of the children?
Benz ********************
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Benjamin *****
success paper is that the court confirms that the foreigner is the father of the child so tht immigration believes it, without that paper of court immigration wont believe that this foreigner is the correct father
