Can my friend in Malaysia apply for a DTV visa online if he is far from Kuala Lumpur?
My friend is in Malaysia but far from Kuala, can he still apply for DTV visa online or must move to the capital ? Thanks
Answer summary
The friend can apply for the DTV visa online without needing to travel to Kuala Lumpur. However, it's noted that the visa process may be more stringent at the embassy in Kuala Lumpur compared to the consulate general locations like Penang or Kota Bahru.

He is eligible to apply online.
Kuala Lumpur Thailand Embassy is harder than consulate general of Thailand in Penang or Kota Bahru.

Anonym deltagare with e-visa the only choice is to apply in Malaysia - you can not choose embassy or consulate in the country. (I don't know why Ko Sein Lin Aung mentioned the consulates since there are no in-person applications anymore.)

Anonymous participant Nope. It is online system. He doesn't need to be in person but he must prove entry stamp, visa and accommodation ( tenancy agreement and utility bills).
