Is 5week cooking class okay and working for DTV application?
Answer summary
The consensus on whether a 5-week cooking class is adequate for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) application is mixed. While some users suggest that a class of this length may work, there are varying opinions on the minimum requirements, with many advising at least 6-12 months of coursework for a stronger application. Users noted that shorter classes have led to different types of visas, such as METV or SETV, and there is concern about potential entry issues upon arrival in Thailand. It's important to review the latest regulations and experiences, as the visa process can be strict and the requirements have changed over time.

Yes. But must be at least one full day with the morning visit to the local market to learn the vegetables etc. don't book a 2h quick session
BubblyElk1347 Not helpful on both counts. All current reports indicate a minimum course duration of 9 (preferably 12) months is advisable to avoid application either being rejected or being issued with a multiple entry tourist visa instead. Why suggest that the length of a qualifying course will cause 'problems on entry'? Everyone knows that once a DTV has been issued there is no requirement to enrol upon any subsequent course once the original qualifying course has ended.
BubblyElk1347 I'm sure that they do know equally as well as yourself. Incidentally, you could apply your way of thinking/arguing to certain IOs at Friendship Bridge Number One. They have a habit of telling DTV holders that they can't border bounce over their bridge and must fly instead.
Anonymous participant 757 in 2024, right after the MOFA launched the DTV people got approved even with a week course or even just one appointment for medical cases. The embassies were a bit confused about the requirements. From there to now they are stricter. Now most of them required more than 6 months to be approved.
Anonymous participant 757 I have no idea, never heard about anybody being approved with a 4 week class. This might have happened in 2024 when they released the DTV but I’m sure it won’t go through anymore
