Hi - My daughter is in Thailand doing a divemaster internship thus have to Stay Long. She did 2 times land crossing to Malaysia and immediately back on a voa into Thailand. Can she still cross over land or does she fly out and back after 2 landcrossings? Any advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The daughter has made two land border crossings into Thailand using a visa exemption and is seeking guidance on further travel. Community feedback indicates that after two visa-exempt entries, she must fly out and return, as subsequent crossings may raise questions at immigration. Alternatives suggested include applying for a tourist visa providing a longer stay or an education visa linked to her divemaster internship, which may offer an extended stay.

Can’t the dive school give her an Ed visa if she is studying

Yes look at ED Visa - diving I think may fall into this category and give her 6 months or more. Good luck.

If she is studying why not get a education visa?

Would be tough to come back. With a maxed out tourist visa plus two maxed out exemptions, I don't think her odds of returning are too great atm. Should have gotten METV before going.

A study visa comes to mind, but afaik you need to be enrolled in a local study program to qualify. But I know others who did internships, I think it can somehow be done. They had work permits as well. Maybe they were paid the required wage (50k per month)?

Listening, I think there should be a student visa for this. DM is the first step into ‘professional’ diving essentially equivalent to trade school imo.

Rather than flying why not get a tourist visa that would give her 60 days which can be extended by a further 30 from one of the consulates in Malaysia, penang is nice for a visit. The 2 times limit only applies to visa exempt entries

Hi - she Got a tourist visa from the Thai Embassy in Denmark before leaving to Thailand. Is it possible to get a Tourist visa when travelling?
John **********
@Herluf *******
yes from a Thai embassy or consulate in a nearby country. Pick where to go then check the requirements on their website

Jeps - she Got a 60 days tourist visa before leaving Denmark - Is it possible to g’et a tourist visa fx from a Thai Embassy when travelling?

You can only do visa exempt (no visa) at a land border 2 times per calendar year. After that she would need to fly out and return if she wants more time. But she's probably going to start getting pulled out of line at the airport and questioned why she's spending so much time in Thailand without a long term visa sooner rather than later

Make sure she's applying for the 30 day extension she can get once each entry as well.
