Hi I’ve come in on a non b visa ( first 3 months) my employer has sent in my passport for the work permit application but I need to quit this job, can I go to get my passport back from immigration and withdraw my application. Will I be able to stay on the non b visa until it expires after 3 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently holding a Non-B visa sponsored by their employer while waiting for a work permit. They inquire about the process to withdraw their work permit application and whether they can stay in Thailand under the Non-B visa after quitting their job. Responses indicate that they can remain on the Non-B visa until its expiration, but it may be annotated with the employer's name, affecting future employment opportunities. Additionally, it's clarified that work permits are managed by the Ministry of Labour, not immigration.

If you need to leave the country too, make sure to end the work permit before you go.

Work permits are done at the labour department /job centre in your town. You're passport maybe there or sent off to another office for approval.

You can stay until the end of a visa, but if it was an extension it should be cancelled.

Yes, you will be able to stay, but there is a good chance that that Non-B is annotated with your current employer, so you would not be able to use it for a new employer.
