Hi I’ve come in on a non b visa ( first 3 months) my employer has sent in my passport for the work permit application but I need to quit this job, can I go to get my passport back from immigration and withdraw my application. Will I be able to stay on the non b visa until it expires after 3 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user asked about withdrawing their work permit application while on a Non-B visa after choosing to quit their job. Responses indicated that while they could retrieve their passport and remain in Thailand until their visa expires, the Non-B visa may be annotated with their current employer's details, potentially affecting their ability to seek new employment.

Talk to your employer, the Ministry of Labor does not hold your passport, your employer does.

No, You Single Entry Non Immigrant B is used on entry and gave you 90 days of stay, when this ends you can only extend this based on being employed.

If you need to leave the country too, make sure to end the work permit before you go.

Work permits are done at the labour department /job centre in your town. You're passport maybe there or sent off to another office for approval.

You can stay until the end of a visa, but if it was an extension it should be cancelled.

Work permits are done by The Ministry of Labour, not immigration.

Yes, you will be able to stay, but there is a good chance that that Non-B is annotated with your current employer, so you would not be able to use it for a new employer.
