Hello. I really donโt know where to ask this question. So I hope I can maybe find an answer here.. I am currently in Laos, came here by motorcycle from Thailand for travel and also do a visa. I tried to make an appointment in Savannakhet but it seems like the website works not correct or something.. There is no available clickable time slots on any date. I also cannot find people talking about making appointment prior on Google Maps. So can I just walk-in and apply for visa? Would really appreciate any information๐.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Savannakhet Consulate in Laos requires an appointment for visa applications; walk-ins are not accepted. The appointment system is operational, but it is currently fully booked for the next two weeks. To secure a booking, check the system daily at midnight when new slots become available. If possible, consider returning to Thailand on a visa-exempt entry and apply there.
that was poor choice (as you found out ๐) Who told you that you could just show up and use that consulate or either consulate in Lao without an appt booked? ๐ฎ
The Savannakhet Consulate went to appt only on June 1st and they only allow 2 weeks of appts to be booked at a time.
Nope you're not gonna walk in and do anything as you won't even get in the gate.
My advice to you is IF you are able to enter the country on a free visa exempt entry stamp, just come back to thailand, make an appt (by setting your alarm for 12AM and checking the system) then go back to apply when it comes due
As you can see in this screen shot there ARE openings for Friday July 19th (in two weeks)
nobody told me. 1 year ago I did the same trip and it was pretty easy to book an appointment in Vientiane so I just didnโt expect it gonna be fully booked until middle of the next month..
And yeah, now I see, because I was checking this app in Savannakhet and it was working very strange. But now I see it works.
