Can I walk in to apply for a visa at the Savannakhet Consulate in Laos without an appointment?

I mean face it, IF you're in Savannakhet now, head on over to the consulate, what do you have to lose?

The worst they can do is tell you that you can't get in the gate without an appt booked and the print out.

You're out nothing by trying. ..

Well you say you're in Lao for travel SO hang out two weeks and apply for a visa when you can get a booking

The Vientiane consulate also is mandatory appt booking too and their soonest opening is not until the 9th of August

Both consular sections in Laos are appointment only. The booking system is working, just fully booked.

that was poor choice (as you found out 🙁) Who told you that you could just show up and use that consulate or either consulate in Lao without an appt booked? 😮

The Savannakhet Consulate went to appt only on June 1st and they only allow 2 weeks of appts to be booked at a time.

The website works fine, it's just booked up for the next two weeks as fast as appt's come available

Every night at midnight ONE more day (two weeks out) opens up for appts, but they are booked up pretty fast

Nope you're not gonna walk in and do anything as you won't even get in the gate.

My advice to you is IF you are able to enter the country on a free visa exempt entry stamp, just come back to thailand, make an appt (by setting your alarm for 12AM and checking the system) then go back to apply when it comes due

As you can see in this screen shot there ARE openings for Friday July 19th (in two weeks)
