What should I do if I can't book an appointment to apply for the DTV visa in Vientiane?

I am aiming to go to Vientiane next week to apply for the DTV. Their site for booking appointments doesn't seem to let you book anything (thaivisavientiane.com); I hope this doesn't mean that the slots are all booked until the end of the year. Would be good to know if anyone else has any insight.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to apply for a DTV visa in Vientiane but is facing difficulties with the appointment booking system. Recent comments reveal that the Vientiane consulate is fully booked until December 20th and will transition to an eVisa system starting January 1, 2025. It is recommended to consider applying at the Savannakhet consulate, which still has available appointments.

if you're talking about a year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage to a thai you need to get it BEFORE they switch over to the eVisa system (Dec 21st is the last day they take in person apps) because that choice is NOT available on the eVisa portal...

So if you need that visa, I'd say don't be a "day counter" πŸ˜› and get over to get it before they stop in person applications

thanks, will do early

also keep in mind Savannakhet requires you show the 400K baht in a thai bank account for 2 months before you apply for the year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage <- if you can't show that you get a 90 day single entry

You might look at the Thai Embassy in Taipei. They're a walkup application. Quick response and good reports of those who have been accepted for the DTV visa.

Sadly for you I would wager you're NOT going to Vientiane to apply for any visa πŸ™

BOTH Vientiane and Savannakhet will stop accepting walk in (w/appt) applications on the 20th of Dec and switch to the eVisa online system on Jan 1, 2025.

Vientiane's appt system is totally booked between now and Dec 20th so that consulate isn't an option for you to use

You CAN go to Savannakhet and apply (they have openings available) You make an appt at this website

was considering flying back to work. It’s an election year/month, if trump wins the private sector will open wide up but if democrats win then it will be another massive recession with only welfare jobs
