Hi guys, I just did the 1 year extension on the marriage visa. First I was thinking I have to keep the money in the bank all the time, but considering I got the 1 year stamp and need to do only drive through 90 days reports and some comments I've seen here lately, it seems like I can use these money now? Or I will have problems obtaining next extension in 1 year if I don't keep them untouched? 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
After receiving a 1-year extension on your marriage visa in Thailand, you can access the funds in your bank account, provided that you keep the account balance of at least 400,000 Baht for 2 months prior to your next extension application. It's advised to maintain the required amount during the 'under consideration' period of the extension process as a precaution, but once the extension is granted, you're free to use your funds as needed.

How about the monthlydeposit option of 40k Baht after the first year? Is this also handled differently at each immigration office?

Some offices may require you to keep the 400k in your account during the 30 day “under consideration” process. Probably best to do so if you can regardless. Once you’ve got the 11 month stamp after that then you can spend at will.

The requirement for the first 1-year extension and all future extensions is that the money must be in your bank account 2 full months before you apply for your extension. That's not 2 months before your extension ends, it's 2 months before you apply.

Once you receive the 1-year extension in your passport, feel free to do whatever you want with the money. As long as your account is back at 400,000 in time for your next application.
