Hello, I currently live in Chiang Mai and have a TM30 here. I need to extend my TR visa before March 21 but I will be visiting Koh Samui till the 23rd. If I go to immigration in Samui to extend do I need a TM30 from Samui or can I use from Chiang Mai? I’m not sure if my Airbnb does TM30 or not.

Any other details I should know if I want to go to immigration in Samui? I’ve only ever gone in Chiang Mai.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to extend their TR visa while visiting Koh Samui but holds a TM30 from Chiang Mai. There are concerns about whether they can use the Chiang Mai TM30 in Samui, especially since their current visa is expiring soon. Comments suggest it's advisable to complete the extension in Chiang Mai due to potential complications when trying to extend in Samui without a local TM30.

I’m shutting this down. The post is being hijacked. Phuket, Samui and Chiang Mai have different requirements.

I guess you better get the extension before you go. You may need TM30 receipt in Samui service area (or any other proof of you are staying in that are MIGHT work).

I highly doubt AirBnB would do your TM30 with your short stay because many AirBnB contracts less than a month is in the 'gray' area.

In the worst case, you may 'lose' several days when you apply in CM (or you may not). I would take it rather than going on overstay in case I cannot apply in Samui.

My advice is to get the COVID extension in Chiang Mai...

DO IT IN CHIANG MAI...thats your registered address !

Do not miss losing out on it.

Apply no later than the current date your stamp expires on March 21st

You may very well find by trying to get it in Samui, that they deny it ...

and tell you to go back where you got your last extension....Chiang Mai.

what documents do you need for a 60-day covid extension? I can't find any up to date info online.

post on a local group about Phuket.

You should have your passport, copy of your data page, most recent visa/entry stamp, departure card, and TM30. You will also need 2 passport photos and 1,900 THB.

And anything else that Phuket may require
