Hi, I’m in Chiang Mai and need to extend TR visa in feb, how do I apply for the COVID extension / what is required & where do I do this?
I understand the current cut off for the covid extension is the end of jan so would apply before this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a COVID extension for your TR visa in Chiang Mai, you need to gather the following required documents before the end of January: your passport with copies of the data page, recent visa, most recent stamp, and departure card; a TM30 filed at the immigration office; the specific forms required by the local immigration; a letter from your embassy or a printout stating they don't issue these letters; two passport-sized photos; and a fee of 1,900 THB. It's important to note that immigration requirements can differ by office, so further verification at the local immigration office is advised. Ensure you apply before January 29, as extensions may no longer be available after this date.
there is no guarantee that 60 day covid extensions will even be available in Feb. Keep in mind right now the last day the order that allows them is in effect is Jan 29th.
I'd watch the news and see IF 60 day covid extensions are continued or not.
Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:
1. Your passport and:
a. a copy of your data ("picture") page
b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)
c. a copy of your most recent stamp
d. a copy of your departure card
2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.
3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms)
4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy saying they don’t issue the letters.
5. 2x passport pictures
6. 1,900 THB.
Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:
- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying
- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport
For Chiang Mai, I'm not sure where you would go; I believe you would go to the main immigration office. You can ask on a Chiang Mai group. I'm leaving commenting open in case anyone knows the specifics.
