I’m applying for a visa and I don’t have enough funds in my personal bank account to meet the financial requirement. My father is willing to support me and sponsor me, but I’m not sure what kind of documents I need to provide to show this.
Does anyone know what I should prepare?
For example:
A sponsorship letter from my father?
Proof of his income or bank statements?
A declaration that he will cover my expenses?
If anyone has experience with this or has gone through something similar, I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa and relying on your father as a sponsor due to insufficient personal funds, you will need to prepare several documents. A sponsorship letter from your father is essential, along with proof of his financial stability, such as bank statements and proof of income. Including a declaration stating that he will cover your expenses is also advisable. Additionally, consider providing your birth certificate to confirm your relationship. It's beneficial to review the official Thai visa application guidelines and possibly use templates for contracts if applicable. Experiences suggest that having clear financial documentation can improve your application chances.
In theory you can do it, but don’t people get rejected if it’s not a spouse DTV Visa. It’s not 100% clear why some get it and other doesn’t. My embassy recommended me to have the money by myself 🙏❤️ good luck!
1.Click on the blue icon. 2. Then scroll down until you find DTV. Open that. 3. User manual 4. Create an account.
You've got 14 days to submit the application. You can go in and out whilst you gather documents. Once step 4 of the application is completed you submit. It will ask you to select payment method. Then you'll receive an email with your application number and the process begins.
All of those examples help with sponsorship application. Must submit bank statements, highlight income for ease of approval. Can be easier to " borrow" the money from dad and apply yourself
thank you very much! The thing is that I’m applying for the DTV visa and they want to see the last 3 months balance, so I think it would be a little bit strange that all this money bumps out
Anonymous participant Depends where you apply on the seasoning of funds. I got mine from Taipei with a week old deposit, Vietnam, London and others have no seasoning requirement.
Anonymous participant I applied in the UK and although they require 3 months bank statements they only require the 500k to be in the last month, so I transferred 500k from my savings. Nothing strange about it.
