Ok. Probably been discussed many times. I’ve tried many times over the last couple of days trying to get the tourist visa but no response. If worse comes to worse can I still travel without that document and get it sorted at passport control.
Answer summary
A user is inquiring about the status of their tourist visa application to Thailand and asks if they can travel without it. Responses clarify that many nationalities, including those with UK or EU passports, do not require a tourist visa for stays up to 60 days. Instead, they need to fill out the TDAC form within 72 hours of arrival. The discussion emphasizes that if you're from a visa-exempt country, you can enter Thailand without a prior visa.

I have a UK passport but I live in New Zealand. I wrote to the Thai embassy in Wellington to ask if I should apply there for a tourist visa or the UK. They replied very quickly saying I don’t need a visa for a stay of 60 days or less. The only visa they recommended was the non O, if I wanted to stay up to 90 days.
Only need to show passport copy of dtac to be filled out within 72 hours of arrival into Thailand and you will be stamped in max 60 days visa exempt free
Which tourist visa ? Depending what your passport is you can get visa exempt for 60 days when you show up - basicly American and Europe content passports allow visa exempt.
Fill out TDAC on line 3 days before arrival if you dont they will have you do it upon arrival before you get stamped in
