Hi, I am a foreigner working in Bangkok. I wanted to ask, if my passport currently at the embassy waiting to make a visa, is it possible to travel domestically by air, or anything else without passport (only use my country’s ID or work permit or copy of passport and visa page?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A foreigner in Bangkok is inquiring about the possibility of domestic travel without their passport, which is currently at the embassy for a visa. Responses suggest that a work permit or a Thai driver's license may suffice for domestic flights. However, there are mixed opinions about hotel check-in requirements, as some hotels might still demand a passport, and recent experiences indicate airports may require a passport for check-in.

You can travel domestic air if you have a Thai drivers license, only.

Starting from this year, when my Malaysian friend with Thai driver's licence flew from BKK - udon thani and back, they won't accept her driver's licence anymore, they asked for passport.

Well if you can't travel with flights, you have the options by bus and trains. Sure take longer but you don't have to provide passport / ID card

Do you have a Thai drivers license? That's enough to travel on a plane in Thailand. But some hotels might require passport for check-in

- you can probably check with the airline, but this is what I found: Passenger (Passenger age above eighteen (18) years ) must present Thai National Identification Card, Thai Driving License, Thai Governor Identification Card, Passport, Disabled Person ID Card, The Official Certificate for Monks and Novices, Thai Seaman Book
