Hello,

I have a question regarding visa. I am now in Thailand with working visa and I as my contract is finishing at the end of the month and I plan to stay until 20 December I need to switch to tourist one. One agent proposed to do it for me for 6k baht do you know if it's possible to do by ourselves and the approximate price?

Thanks :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a working visa and seeks to switch to a tourist visa before their contract ends. They ask if it is possible to make the switch themselves instead of using a visa agent who charged 6,000 baht. Comments suggest that upon cancelling the work permit with the employer's confirmation, the user can then cancel their work visa and apply for a tourist visa or a COVID extension, emphasizing the need to check current immigration rules due to changing regulations.

Wannaikea is correct, but they might cancel covid extension due to them opening up a lot of things. Just check with immigration

After you cancel your work permit at labor office with a letter from your employer stating which date is your last day of work, you can then go cancel your visa extension based on work and immediately apply for the covid extension which is available to apply for till November 26th.

do not talk to agents, you cannot get a tourist visa inside thailand. I gave you the process initially. Follow it, go to or contact your local immigration to get the list of paperwork they require. You can do everything yourself, immigration officers speak some English. You will ask for a covid extension, 1900 baht will give you 60 days
