Can I convert my expiring student visa to a tourist visa in Thailand without leaving the country?

I am an Indian passport holder, which makes it pretty much impossible for me to go back there for any Visa matters due to the current Covid situation.
I am currently here on a student visa which expires 23rd July. I am currently looking to get that converted to a tourist Visa (minimum 1 month) without leaving the country.
Is there anywhere I can go to get this done? Is it possible to do it without leaving the country?

no need to go out of Thailand.... as Tod said, you can easily get a Covid extension.

There is no such thing as get a tourist visa inside the country :/ You BUY tourist visas at thai consulates in other countries before you come here
You could cancel your ED extension with a letter from your school saying your last day is the 23 of July and then apply for a 60 day covid extension.

ORIGINAL POSTERWould it be possible to fly out for a couple of days to a country like Vietnam or something similar and fly back in and apply that way? - Though I have heard that Thailand is not even giving tourist visas to Indian passport holders.
