Hello guys! Can I change from Non-B to Non-O without leaving Thailand?
I'm currently on a Non-B visa but would like to resign from my job and switch to a Non-O (marriage) visa since I'm getting married to a Thai national. Does anyone know if it's possible to do this within Thailand, or would I need to leave and apply from abroad?
Also, if anyone has gone through this process recently, I'd appreciate any advice on the required documents and timeline. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the possibility of switching from a Non-B visa to a Non-O visa (marriage visa) while remaining in Thailand. Respondents suggest that switching might not be feasible if on an initial 90-day Non-B visa, as one would typically need to leave Thailand to apply for a new visa. However, if the individual is on a work extension, it may be possible to apply for a marriage extension by checking with the immigration office. Key documentation, including proof of funds, will be necessary.

If you're on the initial 90 day non-B visa then you cannot change to anything. Your only option is applying for the 1-year extension based on working for the same employer that you applied for the visa with. If you cannot do that then you leave Thailand.
If you're on an extension of stay based on work, then it might be possible. You would need to check with your immigration office to see if they'll allow you to cancel your work extension and then immediately apply for a marriage extension. You would be required to have 400,000 Thai baht in your Thai bank account for 2 full months already at the time you apply for the extension.
