Can I switch from a Muay Thai course to Thai language lessons on my DTV visa?

Hi, I am completing one year on my DTV visa which is a soft power Muay Thai visa. I am thinking about switching from a Muay Thai course to Thai Language lessons.

Has anyone had any experience in switching their curriculum on the soft power DTV visa and is it feasible at all? How would that process go and would there be any difficulty at immigration on re-entry? thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa, associated with Thai cultural activities like Muay Thai, does not require you to continue with the same course. While you can independently take Thai language lessons without impacting your visa status, switching your primary course from Muay Thai to Thai language lessons would necessitate applying for an ED visa specifically for educational purposes. Once you complete your Muay Thai classes, your obligations end, allowing you to pursue language studies without any formal re-enrollment in a different visa category.

There is a DTV accredited Thai cultural studies course in Chiangmai, with a significant Thai language component that I was looking into. I decided to go with a marriage visa instead.

You don't need to "re-enroll" in a course to satisfy anything for your visa. You can just do a Thai language course if you like, it has no impact on your long term 5 year visa status

You can take Thai language classes on any visa. You are not trying to get any visa based on the classes. You already have your visa. There is no requirement that you continue doing what you originally were doing. You can take language classes, and there is no requirement that you tell immigration.

No problem you can do what you like even remote work. A DTV is a DTV.

Thai language lessons are not an option for DTV. You would have to switch to an ED visa for that. But why look to switch from Muay Thai when, from the amount of time you've been doing it, it would seem you are almost done with your classes? Once you are done with the Muay Thai, you will be free of your soft power course obligation, and there is nothing saying you can't take Thai language lessons after that, and they will have no ties to any visa.
