Traveling in/out with my METV which is finished now. Will I get 2 more visa exemption crossing by land or do my previous land border crossing on a METV already used that contingent up?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking clarity on whether they can execute two more visa exemption border crossings after their Multi Entry Tourist Visa (METV) has expired. Responses indicate that the limit of land border entries applies primarily to visa-exempt entries and that using a visa does not affect this count. Although border crossings can be executed, caution is advised, especially after an extended stay on a tourist visa, as immigration officers may scrutinize such entries. It is suggested to be prepared with necessary documentation, though some members assert that certain borders, particularly in Laos, are less stringent and do not require extensive proofs.

Yes, you can do 2 border visa exempt entry in 2024! The general rule in here is to be careful of the fearmongering. Some old foreigners in here are working on either outdated info or haven't done a border run in many many years. Their goal is to police these group and patronize people rather than to give accurate info.

There are also regular poster that are or work for visa company who will spread the same bad info to get some customers. The general rule for border run is to avoid Poipet, most other borders are easy going, especially Laos (Nong Khai and Mukdahan being the 2 easiest). You won't need any of the 3 proof of at these two Laos border, and won't even get questioned.

I know how to weight the comments in this and other groups. Most want to tell a story while sticking to the facts is needed. I am for decades in Asian countries never encounter the slightest issues if you fulfill the requirements. I also got never fined , robbed or had issues with customs so yes I might be an unicorn ๐Ÿฆ„.

If contemplating visa exempt border bounces I'd avoid doing them yourself and use a border bounce company. Having already been here for up to 9 months you are surely pushing the boundaries of tourism.

ok. Having had the ability to be here for so long it can be an issue. I've seen reports previously of people being denied visa exempt after a multiple entry visa

what you have to expect we can't know, however trying to do two visa-exempt entries right after having enjoyed the 6+ months on a Multi Entry Tourist Visa, will result in Immigration officer's raised eyebrows. You should be prepared to be asked for the three famous proofs: accomodation, onward travel and 20,000.- THB in cash (or another currency)

The limit for land border entries only applies to entries without a visa (visa exempt). Any entries made with a visa have no affect on the limit.
