Can I leave Thailand at Mae Sai and re-enter for another 30 days without a visa after using an METV?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm finding conflicting information.

I had an METV (Australian Passport) and I need to leave the country by the 8th of October. I have already extended my last entry on this visa by 30 days and cannot extend it any further. I did 2 land border runs with this visa. The visa is now finished.

My understanding is that these land crossings do not count towards the 2 land entries into Thailand permitted each year.

My question is, can I leave at Mae Sai land crossing, and reenter thailand without a visa, and get another 30 days in the country as a visa exemption?

Thanks in advance :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is asking about the possibility of leaving Thailand via the Mae Sai land crossing after using an METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) and whether they can re-enter without a visa to receive another 30 days. The comments clarify that since the user entered Thailand on a visa, the two land crossings do not count towards the annual limit for visa-exempt entries. Therefore, re-entry should not be an issue as long as the user has the necessary documentation ready.

Hey, you are right, the entries with a visa do NOT count when it comes to the entry limit with visa exemption. So, yes, you can do that border run and you should be fine. Make sure to have all 3 proofs (10'000 Baht, proof of onward travel and proof of accommodation) ready, just in case they decide to check.

There have been no reports that I'm aware of of them checking any of those at that border. They check your eligibility for re-entry before they let you leave, if they let you out they plan to let you back in (as if you are doing the Myanmar border pass there is nowhere else you can go other than back to Thailand).

The land border limit is only on visa exempt entries...you came in on a visa so you are good
