TLDR : Answer Summary
When your retirement visa is due for renewal while you are outside Thailand, it cannot be extended from abroad. If your visa expires before you return, you will need to apply for a new NON-O visa from the Thai embassy, starting with a 90-day visa and then applying for the year-long extension upon your return. It's recommended to renew your visa 30-45 days before the expiration; otherwise, you must begin the visa application process anew.

Start again. If meet criteria do yourself. I'm gona let my visa expire and start new O visa when back. Family stuff to do in UK for 3 months. Suits me let expire then renewal date better

Start again . You could apply for the initial Non-o in the UK BUT they will want £

as an end balance on your UK bank statement.

The answer is in your dumb question, If it expires before you come back it expires, maybe look up the world "expires" in the dictionary

I did this last year due to family bereavement. You have to get a new non imm O e-visa based on retirement. Then when you are back 30 days before the visa expires you apply for your extension

You would likely need to start the renewal in a 30-45 day window prior to expiration. Check with your province.

You can not extend it from outside the country. After it expires just apply at the Thai embassy, as if you were starting over, getting the 90 day visa first, then the year extension after you return to Thailand.

You have to start again with a new Visa application if you miss your Extension of Stay renewal
