A question under the 'everything else' category.

Is it possible to buy a second hand pick up and register ownership in my name when I do not have a driving license.

I will be on a one year retirement visa extension and I have a yellow house book and pink ID card.

Thank you in advance for any replies.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to buy and register a second-hand pickup truck in Thailand without holding a driving license. Users suggested that the essential documents needed include a residence certificate, proof of purchase, and the appropriate transfer documents. The process involves going to the Land Transport Office with the required documentation, including an updated TM30 form, to register the vehicle.

I have just bought a used Ranger and at no time did I have to show anyone my driving license though I do have Thai one in addition to UK. To register blue book in your name you must have a residence certificate so an up to date tm 30 is essential. In Nakhon Phanom I go to Land Transport Office and explain what I want. You must have proof of purchase and a sales invoice. Lto request residence certificate. 5 weeks later I go and collect my blue book and local reg plates. That will be this coming Monday.

The yellow book and pink ID is accepted instead of residence certificate. Might add in most provinces but this is Thailand
