TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking guidance on whether they can obtain a new Non-B visa from Laos after their current visa expires, despite not having a work permit. Responses indicate that it may not be possible to secure a new work permit from Laos without canceling an existing one, but other consulates might issue a new Non-B visa. The conversation emphasizes the necessity of holding the proper documents including a work permit, teaching license, and visa to work legally in Thailand.
And before others teachers jumps the band wagon to inform us that friends do work illegal and now have problems by ignoring the laws and rules of this country, I close the commenting.
First lesson:
1) If needed, depending on school the teachers license or waiver from Ministry of Education
2) Work Permit from Ministry of Labor
3) Non Immigrant B visa, from Thai Consulate or Immigration
If you miss one of these 3, start sitting in the corner and write 1000 times on a piece of paper:
I shall not work illegal. I go to get the correct documents before I teach again.
One of my friend not get the teaching license from Krusapa too.And yes agency that he working for no have an idea to help too and is it possible if he fine some place to learn and channge in to ED visa ?
Option 2 (highly sketch, be prepared for questioning if done) is to have the agency convert the employee from a teacher to a teacher's assistant/ librarian/ etc. However, remember your friend can not teach, and it he's caught teaching he will get fined.
Did he have a degree? KSP will NOT issue a teaching license waiver without a degree.
If your friend doesn't have a degree, I believe there's a university, Siam Technical College, that offers some type of BA in TESOL that also allows a person to work. I believe that qualifies for an ED visa, and if your friend applies, I'm positive the ED visa would be accepted.
