How Can I Obtain a Non-B Visa Without a Work Permit Cancellation Letter?

Good evening,

I was given Non-B visa twice from my last employer during my 8 months teaching there but they didn’t give me any work permit, so I decided to quit my job right after my second Non-B visa had expired. I am holding a tourist visa right now for 3 months already.

Now that I have a new job, I went to Vientiane last time to process my new Non-B visa, only to be declined because they needed my previous work permit and its cancellation letter, which I obviously don’t have. I tried to reach my previous school and agency about it to provide me a cancellation letter for my previous Non-B visa (as what others have told me) but they seem not interested to give what I need.

Anyone who can help me to get and process Non-B visa without needing that letter anymore? Or does anyone have other recommendation? It would be a big help. Thank you so much. 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking assistance in obtaining a Non-B visa after previously not receiving work permits from their former employer. They are currently on a tourist visa and were denied a new Non-B visa in Vientiane because they lack a cancellation letter for their previous work permit. The community discusses potential options, emphasizing the importance of proper documentation and suggesting that the user either secure the necessary documents from their former employer or have their new employer apply for the work permit.

We had this discussion before and in my opinion there is only one thing to be done. REFUSE to work illegal, in the end you are the one in problems, not your school, not your agency, nobody else then you.

Forget it is common procedure of schools, the school needs YOU not the other way around. And if you or others are willing to work illegal, not paid, hassled around for a small salary we will read more and more of these reports. Maybe just maybe there is a reason why back to back Non Immigration B visa's without back up of a work permit are more and more refused.

Only alternative you have is get your new employer apply for the work permit, get the correct documents and keep your fingers crossed.

Yes the problem seems to be derivative the former schools's scam to deny their employee's proper documentation. An as a consequence Glen has "B" stamps with no supporting work permits. Perhaps someone can make representation on behalf the teachers past and present of the school, with the Thai Ministry of Labour. Doesn't solve the problem immediately but perhaps threaten the principal of the school that road is gonna be travelled????In a very fast car.

I guess you could try Penang Malaysia, BUT you are going to need proof your employer applied for a work permit (the receipt the MOL gives) or you're not gonna get a Non-B from any thai consulate in the area I know of
