Does it still stand that you can only do a 30 day extension once in 12 months followed by a 7 day
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around whether the 30-day extension for visas in Thailand can still only be granted once in a 12-month period, followed by a 7-day extension. Responses indicate that while it was a guideline, it has not officially changed and is still applicable, primarily meant to allow travelers time to leave the country if their extension is denied.

that 7 day stamp is a somewhat different thing. It's existed for a long time and is to allow you time to leave the country when you are denied an extension, it's not itself an extension
