I currently hold a work visa and WP. I am being made redundant and for various reasons, I will need to cancel my work visa in advance.
Does anyone know if it's possible to notify immigration (with a letter from emplyoer) a week in advance of the exit date?
I know it's possible for the education visa but not sure about the work visa.
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of notifying Thai immigration to cancel their work visa a week in advance due to redundancy. A comment clarifies the difference between a work visa and an extension of stay, and mentions that most immigration offices accept cancellations 1-2 weeks before the stated exit date, given appropriate notification and documentation.
Terminology is important. If you have a work VISA (90 day, non-B visa) then you cannot cancel a visa.
If you have an extension based on working in Thailand (the stamp in your passport says "extension of stay") then yes, you will have to cancel this. Most immigration offices will allow you to cancel 1-2 weeks before the date on your letter. They will then stamp you in until the date on the letter.

I also need the same for the Workpermit. I've written to the Labour department and called but am yet to hear back. Thamks

Hi Brandon. I think I'm going to need proof to show my company that it is possible to cancel the visa in advance. I've looked on the government website but I can't find the 'evidence' I need. Do you happen to know if there's any official confirmation anywhere that this is the case?
