Hi all, quick question, Iβm a British citizen getting married in Thailand (finally after 10 years and two kids together π₯΄), once I get the affirmation to marry and have it translated to Thai, I then need to go to the ministry of foreign affairs to get it legalised, can I do this alone, or does my Thai partner need to be there? Many thanks all!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, a British citizen planning to marry in Thailand, inquired whether they need their Thai partner present for the legalization of their marriage affirmation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Responses confirm that the poster can go alone, and there is no requirement for their partner to attend. Additionally, advice was provided regarding obtaining a letter from the British embassy that may negate the need for legalization.
Yeah itβs the affirmation to marry that needs to be taken to the ministry of foreign affairs to be legalised, this needs to be done before we can go to our local Amphur to get married.
If you go to British embassy before marriage with your spouse to be then you get a letter from the British embassy in BKK and then you do not need to legalise your marriage anywhere
