Hi, I am on a tourist visa (60+30) extended already, I would like to stay more, can I get a new visa if I go to the consulate in Penang, or can I get out and get a visa exemption? I have a French passeport. Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user on a tourist visa (60+30 days) inquired about extending their stay in Thailand. They asked whether they could apply for a new visa at the Thai consulate in Penang or obtain a visa exemption by exiting the country. Responses suggested that they could indeed apply for a new visa at a consulate or make a border run to acquire a new 30-day visa exemption. Additionally, it's noted that as of 2020, new regulations allow for two land border entries and two 30-day extensions, potentially allowing the user to stay in Thailand for up to 7 months.

I believe you asked this once before. You said you are the Chef from France...here 4-6 months each year ...winter months... and returns to France as a Personal Chef

Yes...you likely can obtain a new tourist visa as Robert Lagas said. Avoid Savannakhet.

And as its a new year 2020 you are allowed two land border entries plus two 30 day extensions. That would give you 4 added months in Thailand.

If more time needed for Marriage documents, get the Tourist Visa first...then the land border entries and extensions. Giving you max of 7 months in Thailand.

After those 7 months you will need to look elsewhere to stay.

Good Luck

You can apply for a NEW visa at a Thai Consulate or you can make a border run, stamp out, stamp in/out neighbor country and back into Thailand fo a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry
